Long time ago, my father asked me to plan a family-weekend-trip. My first decision was to go to Moldova, but later I corrected my plans to show my family the beauty of Lithuania - so, it meant to be there for the fourth time. At first my father was introduced to my plans - for my siblings and my mother it was a secret - at first. Later everyone found out where we were going.
So, we met all in Berlin to go from Berlin-Tegel to Riga. We spent our first evening there, watching the second half of Germany’s football game against Poland, what was a big must for my sister 
. Later we went out to the old-town, where I got seriously hurt by a (gigantic) punkie, which made me look like a flyweight-boxer.
The next day it was raining cats and dogs, but after a few hours the rain passed off, which made me really happy. We went to get the car, I booked for the next days, but we got another one, whose steering-wheel started to shake heavily at a speed of 60km/h. Nonetheless, we made it to Nida, our place to rest at the Courland Spit, making stops in Jelgava, Latvia and Šiauliai, Lithuania. In Šiauliai we visited Kryžių Kalnas, the famous cross-mountain, where John Paul II. celebrated high mass in 1993.
In the evening we arrived in Nida in the South of the Lithuanian part of the Courland Spit, close to the Russian border of the enclave Kaliningrad. The evening in Nida was lovely, it was very warm, our hotel had even “sea”-view (in fact not the sea, but the lagoon) and we found a nice place to have dinner, there was only one rub: Mosquitos… millions of mosquitos!
The next day we left the hotel and drove to the other side of the spit, to have a warm morning at the beach - everyone except my mother and me got sunburnt.
After that we left the Spit by ferry, had a stop in Klaipėda and continued our trip to Lithuania’s capital Vilnius on the Via Baltica. In the evening we met Milda, had delicious dinner with her family at her place (thanks again!) and later went to the old-town, to meet Eglė, Justina and Miglė. We spend most of the evening in a nice backyard, where we became witnesses of Lithuanian pride and madness about their Grand-Prix d’Eurovision representatives.
The next day we had guided trip tour through Vilnius with Milda, later picked up Justina to go to Trakai, a small town located 30km west from Vilnius. The town’s landmark is its island castle, which was build 15th century.
After a small walk on the castle’s island, we had a rest at a restaurant where we cepelinai, Lithuania’s national dish. After that we walked to the car, took our swimming things and…
And then we just had a view at Tamsta Club and I just discovered an unbelievable chance for my last evening in Vilnius: Saulės kliošas - the best Lithuanian band I know, unfortunately not with their normal singer Daiva Starinskaitė, but with Mantas, a singer of another Lithuanian band, who did his job really great, singing songs of Saulės kliošas (for example Singing In The Night) , , Abba and Prince. Really bombastic and endless funky!
The next day we had to leave again to Riga - on the way the car’s window-lift motor broke down, so, we had to drive with open windows, and observe the car everywhere we parked it, because we were not able to close the windows. Everyone was beat-up on the way back, but we had to continue our trip later from Berlin 700km back to Trier, before we picked up Murphy in Potsdam, where she had holidays at Nina’s place with some cats . Again a big thankyou!!!
PS: “nebeprisikiškiakopūsteliaudavome” is the longest word in the Lithuanian language (and my Lithuanian vocabulary(which mainly consists of useful sentences as “Can you show me the way to X?” “The dinner was delicious - can you note me the recipe?” etc. 
)

My brother seems to have had the time already to write a few things done about the trip and post some photos.
