Looooong time ago, my Lithuanian friend Migle, sent me a URL of a website, where I was not able to understand anything, because it is the site of a Lithuanian online label. After I switched it to English, I was at least able to understand that they have music and that it is downloadable. So, during the last weeks I became a big fan of one band, that is presented on sutemos.net: stockfinster.
Stockfinster is Swedish music via Lithuania, which is just smooth (at least my favourites songs). Its genre is officially called: “Easy Listening (which is a defamation), Electronic and Ambient”.
A quote from sutemos.net:
“stockfinster is from Malmö, Sweden and consists mainly of batti who writes, plays, arranges and mixes everything – sometimes with a little help from his musical friends. stockfinster was once a band – with real instruments and vocals – but after a long period of playing in a stuffy rehearsal-room, the tension became too strong and the band split. Everybody went on to pursue their musical aspirations, and batti kept the name stockfinster for his own electronical soundscapes.”
My favourite songs are:
- All Becomes Music
- Ergo
- Dismantled
- A Crack In Time
All (three) albums are downloadable on stockfinster.nu.

So, yesterday I spent a short time of my evening in Idealbank, my - up to now - favourite club in Trier. It was their last evening, and now they are going to close it.
Idealbank is a club, which was built in an ancient bank establishment, and which was famous for video-installations, archaic cartoons, rocking ping-pong-evenings on Thursdays, electronic evenings on Wednesdays and unfortunately, for an audience that really rarely danced. Since my final year at school I spent a lot of evenings there, well, and today, it was the final party, and it was quite a crowded party there, but I wasn’t joining it too long.

On Friday I’ve been to my old school. There is a theatre group which plays - mostly musicals - once a year. Longer time ago I took part in their group, too. Though I’m not a big fan of musicals in general, it was always fun to be with them, having rehearsals, making trips to a youth hostel in Serrig to have a whole rehearsal-week and of course the time in which we played in front of the audience.
The first time was three years ago. They played “Hair”, …, and they just needed someone, who made the lights and the audio settings. One year later it was “Man Of La Mancha”, …, and I had to act as a gay barber, which was really fun. They seemed to like me as a homosexual character on the stage, because one year ago, I had to play the gay son of a vampire… something like a dracula, in “Dance Of The Vampires”. I really have no idea, why I always had to play such characters
.
So, this year, I took only part as a groupie and visitor in the audience. It was great to watch everything from the outside, not as one of the actors, who became already tired of the play, because of having acted it in uncountable rehearsals during weeks and months. They played Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and it was fascinating. The manning of characters had completely changed and I only knew some of them - the biggest part seemed to have left school with me last year. But after the debut performance I had the chance to become acquainted to some of them and I was even allowed to be on the first-name terms with my ancient music teacher and the stage director of the play.

Two weeks ago I started a photographic internship at the german press agency in Frankfurt/Main. Before that time I tried to find a place in a living community in Frankfurt, because it would have been impossible and too expensive to get to Frankfurt every day. I got only one offer, and it was just too expensive.
But I was fortunate, because Iris, who is living and studying in Mainz, offered me her flat for that time. Mainz-Frankfurt took only 20-40 minutes with the train.
Frankfurt itself was not very attractive to me. Especially the area around the train station was not that friendly, but unfortunately I arrived there daily and had breakfast there.
Mainz was better. I met Pascal, who is studying there, and we made a touristic and photographic trip through Mainz.

I just did some research on the internet and found some of my works of the last weeks.
This was in Frankfurt’s zoo.
Here are some shots for small texts on the weather:
Link 1, Link 2, Link 3 Link 4 and Link 5,
and here you can find me in the background of the photo, where Robert Koch harvested some sparagus in Büttlborn.
ADDITION: Link 4 and Link 5 are dynamical links of the local newspaper… just look for “Brunnen in Frankfurt” (fountain in Frankfurt) and “Tulpenblüte im Regen” (tulip’s bloom in the rain)
I’m going to write more about my internship later…
